Kvemo Kartli has a mostly dry subtropical climate. The climate of the plain is humid subtropical, in the mountainous region the climate is moderately humid. The main part of the landscape is the fields. The area is rich in lakes and reservoirs.

Kartli cuisine is famous for its soups. Here you will taste bread cul stew of meat boiled with cherry-plums, rice and salad herbs, gholo and shindi. The locals use a variety of herbs, pickles and vegetables in their dishes. Fruit growing is also developed in the region.
