Path of St. Nino

Travel company EDIA Travel Group offers one day tour - Sagarejo (St. Nino's Monastery) - Bodbe Archaeopolis - Sighnaghi. During the tour, you'll see those ancient sightseengs, which are assosiated with   Georgia's enlightener St. Nino's name , and you will have the opportunity to walk through the road, which once St. Nino completed with cross in her hands. During the tour you will visit:

• Sagarejo St. Nino Monastery - XV-XVII centuries.
• Bodbe Archeopolis - BC I - AD V. In ancient times, this area was crossed by the Silk Road, which was coming from Khornabuji.
• Bodbe St.Nino Monastery -  IV- IX centuries. The building of temple was  attributed Georgia's first Christian King Mirian and his son Bakar. Here is buried St. Nino .
• Nasamkhrali Church- XV century- you will see this church during a short trekking.
• Sighnaghi -  XVIII century fortress town, which is surrounded by 2.5 km.fence. The fortress has 23 towers and 5 entrances, while in ancient times each tower had its own name. Sighnaghi is distinguished by its colorful balconies, beautiful views of Alazani and the Caucasus, with its history and culture.

In the town you will  visit the Sighnaghi Museum, which reserves the ethnographic and archaeological collections, numismatics rich collection of photos and documents,also the museum's national welth - the paintings of Niko Pirosmani. In Sighnaghi you will visit St. Stephen and St.George's churches.

8:00 - Departure from Tbilisi to Sighnaghi.

         Sagarejo- St.Nino Monastery

         Bodbe Archeopolis; Bodbe St.Nino's Monastery, St.Nino's Spring.

         Short trekking in St.Nino's path (4 km.). On the road Nasamkhrali Church.

         Sighnaghi (National Museum; St. Stephen Church, St.George's Church)

20:00 - End of tour. Return to Tbilisi.
