 Davit-Gareji - Sighnaghi

• Davit-Gareji – VI-XVIII centuries cave monastery. The monastery was founded by the Assyrian Holy Father David Garejian. Gareji is distinguished by architecture and wall paintings, which is free from the Byzantine influence. In 1616, Shah-Abbas killed 6000 monks here and robbed the monastery. Here was created the chant ,,vineyard’’.
• Bodbe Monastery – IV- IX centuries. Here died and was buried all the Georgians enlightener St. Nino. The current wall paintings belong to 1823.
• Khirsa Monastery – VI-XVI centuries. The monastery was founded by the Assyrian Holy father Stephen,who is buried here. The church was rebuilt several times. During the king Erekle II reign time, Khirsa was the army gathering place.
• Sighnaghi – XVIII century castle town, which overlooks the picturesque valley of River Alazani. Sighnaghi is distinguished for its architecture and colourig.

8:00   – Departure from Tbilisi;

10:00  - Gareja ;

13:30 – Kachreti – Dinner;

15:00 – Bodbe Monastery;

17:40 – Sighnaghi (The National Museum and Sarajishvili Museum; St. Stephen Church and St.George Church.)

19:00 – Supper in Sighnaghi;

22:00 – Return to Tbilisi.
